Hi, forgive me if this question is dumb, but I am still unclear after reading much of the terms & conditions to the site..

Am I able to reproduce Prelinger archive footage for a student short assignment?

Obviously I am a student and am hoping to use for noncommercial use only.

any info or answers would be appreciated,

On each film's page there is "Creative Commons license:" statement. If it says "Public Domain" (most films in the Prelinger Archive) then you are free to use for any purpose whatsoever. Check out for information about restrictions on other Creative Commons licenses. In short, for a student project, you can probably use anything from the Archive with no problem, but you should always credit the source.
